A blessed Easter Sunday to all our readers! Auza.Net hopes you had a meaningful long
weekend with your loved ones here and abroad. Such are the times that we really find modern
technology and the internet a huge help in communicating with our loved ones, especially those
who are working abroad or at sea.
As part of its efforts in guiding members of the Catholic church, the Catholic Bishop’s
Conference of the Philippines or CBCP has specially developed a website called Visita Iglesia,
which can be viewed at www.visitaiglesia.net. The site is dedicated to overseas workers and
seafarers who find it very difficult to maintain their spiritual needs due to the lack of churches,
the prevailing traditions and religion in their work area, or because of lack of time. It is also
useful for the elderly and the sick who would want to visit churches and pray, but could not
because of their condition.
The online Visita Iglesia offers options such as Catechesis, the Seven Last Words, Pasyon,
Liturgical celebrations, Homilies and also answers Frequently Asked Questions on their FAQ’s
page. It is however, not a replacement to actually going to places of prayer and meditation.
Msgr. Pedro C. Quitoro III, Media Office Director of CBCP, reminds Catholic faithfuls that those
who do have the chance and the capacity to join their community in prayer and sacrifice should
do so.
Easter Sunday is a good time to reflect on Christ’s Resurrection and our salvation. The Visita
Iglesia website has all the information and material relevant to this celebration.
